Import guide

Move from Pokerbase to PokerLog

PokerLog reads two Pokerbase files directly. Pokerbase's CSV export gives each session's date, location and result. A Pokerbase Custom Sheet, the CSV template Pokerbase uses for its own imports, carries the full details: times, stakes, buy-ins, rebuys, add-ons, cash-outs and tournament results.

At a glance

  • How PokerLog reads it: recognized automatically (a dedicated import format).
  • Where: the web dashboard, or Settings → Import Data on iPhone and Android.
  • Cost: importing is free in PokerLog. Duplicates are detected and the last import can be undone.

1. Get your sessions out of Pokerbase

  1. Open Pokerbase and go to More → CSV Export → Generate report.
  2. Email the report to yourself or save it to Files.
  3. Or, if you keep your sessions in a Pokerbase Custom Sheet (the CSV template from Pokerbase's help center), use that file instead: it has the full details.
  • In the export files we've tested, Pokerbase's CSV export contains each session's date, location, currency, result and expenses, but not buy-ins, games or stakes.
  • The export path comes from PokerLog's import screen and Poker Analytics' switching guide; Pokerbase's own documentation doesn't list it.

2. Import the file into PokerLog

  1. Sign in at pokerlog.app, or create a free account. On a phone, open the PokerLog app instead.
  2. Open Settings → Import Data (on the web, Sessions → Import works too).
  3. Pick Pokerbase from the list of apps, then choose the file.
  4. Check the preview: the sessions found, the columns used, any warnings, and possible duplicates (skipped by default).
  5. Import. Your stats, charts and bankroll results update right away, and sync to your other devices.

If you already have an account, open the importer.

3. What carries over

  • From the CSV export: date, location and result of each session, with expenses kept in the notes. Sessions without times get a 3-hour duration marked [Duration estimated].
  • From a Custom Sheet: start and end, stake, table size, game, cash game or tournament, online or live
  • Buy-in, rebuys and add-ons (amount and count), bounties, dealer tips (expenses from stack) and cash-out
  • Break minutes, tournament name, finishing position and number of entries, notes

4. What doesn't carry over

  • Buy-ins, games and stakes when you use the plain CSV export (they aren't in that file).
  • Staking packages, backer reports and social feed posts.
  • Hand histories and receipts.
  • Currencies: amounts come in as they are, and the preview warns if the file mixes currencies.

5. Duplicates and undo

Before saving, PokerLog compares each imported session with the ones you already have. A session on the same day with the same buy-in and result is an exact match; the same day, location and a buy-in within $1 is a likely match. Both are skipped unless you choose "Import anyway". If something looks wrong afterwards, undo the last import from the same screen and try again.

FAQ

Why are my Pokerbase buy-ins missing after import?

Pokerbase's CSV export only includes each session's result, so PokerLog can import your profit or loss but not the buy-in, game or stakes. If you have a Pokerbase Custom Sheet with your sessions, import that file instead for the full details.
