Import guide
Move your poker spreadsheet to PokerLog
PokerLog imports poker sessions from Excel (.xlsx), CSV, tab-separated and JSON files, or rows pasted from a spreadsheet. It needs at least a date column and one money column (profit, or buy-in and cash-out), and it recognizes common column names automatically.

At a glance
- How PokerLog reads it: by matching column names; you see every mapped column before importing.
- Where: the web dashboard, or Settings → Import Data on iPhone and Android.
- Cost: importing is free in PokerLog. Duplicates are detected and the last import can be undone.
1. Save your spreadsheet as a file
- Excel: save as .xlsx (or File → Save As → CSV).
- Google Sheets: File → Download → Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) or Comma-separated values (.csv).
- Numbers: File → Export To → Excel or CSV.
- Or just select the rows, header line included, and copy them to paste into PokerLog.
- Recognized column names include Date, Start, End, Location (or Casino, Room, Venue), Game, Stakes (or Blinds), Buy-in, Cash Out, Profit (or Net, Result), Hours (or Duration), Tips, Notes, Entry Fee, Prize, Position and Entrants.
- Files up to 5 MB and 2,000 rows per import, and up to 5 imports a day. Dates in day/month order and decimal commas are detected and shown in the preview.
2. Import the file into PokerLog
- Sign in at pokerlog.app, or create a free account. On a phone, open the PokerLog app instead.
- Open Settings → Import Data (on the web, Sessions → Import works too).
- Pick your file, then choose the file or paste the rows.
- Check the preview: the sessions found, the columns used, any warnings, and possible duplicates (skipped by default).
- Import. Your stats, charts and bankroll results update right away, and sync to your other devices.
If you already have an account, open the importer.
3. What carries over
- Every row with a date and a result becomes a session
- Cash games and tournaments (a Tournament? or Type column, or tournament fields)
- Locations, matched to PokerLog's rooms and online sites, or added as your own
- Missing times get a 3-hour duration marked [Duration estimated]
4. What doesn't carry over
- Formulas, totals and summary rows (only session rows import).
- Deposits and withdrawals: add your current balance as a deposit in PokerLog.
- Columns PokerLog can't match by name. Prime's Smart Import can match other layouts with AI.
5. Duplicates and undo
Before saving, PokerLog compares each imported session with the ones you already have. A session on the same day with the same buy-in and result is an exact match; the same day, location and a buy-in within $1 is a likely match. Both are skipped unless you choose "Import anyway". If something looks wrong afterwards, undo the last import from the same screen and try again.
FAQ
My columns have unusual names. Will it still work?
PokerLog first tries common column names. If it can't find a date and a money column, Prime's Smart Import can match other layouts with AI, or you can rename the headers to the names listed above and import again for free.
